You don’t have to look far to find someone coping with a challenge. It may be a friend, co-worker, parent or child. Maybe you need only to look within. Whether it’s someone you hold dear or the one standing here, it’s not by chance that you found this book near! The list of trials in life is endless—the challenge within. But God knows the need, and He knows the heart of the one you love—He knows YOU!
“Comfort in the Challenge”, is filled with messages spoken from the heart of God. Inside, you will find that God loves you and He cares about you, personally, and what you care about matters to Him. He wants to take that care, in exchange, with His thoughts of Love, Hope, Healing, and Direction. He speaks to the need, He speaks YOU, to bring you—”Comfort in the Challenge”.

This book inspired me to consider my relationship with God and to want to strengthen it. It is well written — a pleasure to read; thought-provoking; and yes, comforting. Open your heart and enjoy.

If you are facing a challenge pick up this book, say a prayer and start reading. It’s filled with God’s word and practical life situations. The book can give you more understanding of God’s word. Help you to know God is there for you, in a very personal way. To comfort, guide, and love you with an everlasting love.

Comfort in the Challenge is an excellent book for those hurting, wounded or experiencing deep disappointment – basically, it’s for just about everyone! The testimonials are very inspiring and encourage each of us to lean into the Lord and to hear His heartbeat on a daily basis. Too many times we erect barriers around our hearts after we have been wounded. But Lori encourages us to trust in the Lord through the heartaches and pain, and to see God’s comfort and healing come alive in the process.

I have enjoyed these books by Lori O’Neil. The writings are inspirational, comforting, enlightening, and they seem to be in line with the things that I have learned over the years as a born again Christ follower. The only thing I don’t care for is that Lori writes as though God is speaking in first person. This feels strange to me, because in my mind, only the spoken words of God in the Bible should be written in first person.

Author Lori J. O’Neil shared her first book, Comfort in the Challenge with me. Comfort is dedicated to caregivers, which made me smile. My social services work brings me in contact with a lot of caregivers, and I have been a caregiver myself. I understand the long-suffering, sometimes lonely office caregiving can be so I was delighted by the dedication. At the back of the book there is also a lovely testimony about how Lori was re-engaged to write after a season of not writing, then connected to a publisher for the book. Reading about the divine orchestration was encouraging in itself!
